Rich (40) has recently retired from the Royal Air Force after 16 years of service as a Tornado GR4 Navigator. Rich has served on both the front line, completing numerous tours of duty and also as a qualified tactics instructor on the Operational Conversion Unit. Following his final 4 years as a Requirements Manager on multi-million pound procurement programmes, Rich left the RAF and joined a Lincolnshire organisation as a technical consultant on numerous defence projects. Rich holds a BA(Hons) in Business Management, accreditation in Project Management and an MSc in Project and Programme Management. He only moved to the village 2 years ago and is excited at the potential for enhancing community cohesion and creating a hub for all things village life. Rich has a fantastic supportive wife and two wonderful children, who are both in full time education in the local area. What little spare time he has, Rich can be found walking the family dog, operating the children’s taxi service, supporting their numerous extra-curricular activities or watching Leicester Tigers at Rugby Union.
Neil (50) is a self-employed architect with a busy family life with his partner, 2 daughters and 2 dogs. Neil has lived in Potterhanworth for over 10 years and loves the village, its people and sense of community. Neil has been running his own architectural practice for 20 years, which includes project management, producing accounts and VAT returns and managing websites & social media. Neil is a founding member of the highly successful Potterhanworth Beer Festival Committee, which is now in its 13th year and has been attracting over 600 attendees each year. Since it started, the Beer Festival has raised over £50,000 in support of local worthy causes such as the pavilion, pre-school, play group, over 60s club, village football team and allotments. Neil is an avid squash player and is on the committee for his local club (Metheringham) and is the club rep for county level squash matters. In his spare time, Neil loves walking holidays (with the dogs) and plays squash 2-3 times a week.
Sarah (52) is proud to have been part of the teaching profession for the last 31 years. During that time Sarah has taught children from the ages of 3-19, in a vast range of different schools. Sarah strongly believe in community- whilst working in schools she has helped to build, extend and hopefully benefit the communities that she has been fortunate enough to be a part of. Sarah has held senior management, including two headships for the last 17 years at a range of schools. Sarah is married with two children, of who she is exceptionally proud of with a very loving family. People are at the heart of everything Sarah believes in and having lived in Potterhanworth for nearly 18 years, Sarah loves this beautiful village and all it represents. It is a village with heart and a spirit!
Mick (36) is Regional Area Manager for Mitchell’s & Butlers who run circa 1,800 bars & restaurants across the UK. Mick currently lives with his partner Helen and her son in Potterhanworth and is proud to be part of such a beautiful village. Mick’s 11 year old son lives with his Mum in London. Mick has worked in the hospitality industry for 18 years, Mitchell’s & Butlers for 17 of them where he has managed bars & restaurants all across the country. Mick currently has the privilege of looking after 11 managed businesses primarily based in & around Birmingham as a regional manager, which is a demanding but rewarding job seeing businesses grow from strength to strength in a challenging environment. In his spare time Mick enjoys watching and playing various sports, loves the great outdoors as well as spending time with family & friends.
